Joseph J. Valeri is a tech entrepreneur turned novelist. He has founded or co-founded several software companies, including Lucernex, Rendr and Surfaice.pro, before turning his attention to fiction with The Change, a debut speculative novel structured after Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End and carrying a dystopian warning in the spirit of The Handmaid's Tale — a reflection on the world's drift toward a new authoritarianism, sharpened by his experience raising two formidably strong-minded daughters and watching the sexism they face. Valeri and his wife Jill live on an olive farm among the vineyards of Montefalco, Umbria.
